The legislature's amazing achievement

You’ve got to hand it to ‘em. You thought it was impossible. But the North Carolina legislature did it: They made South Carolina look progressive.
South Carolina took down the Confederate flag, while our legislature is making it impossible to take down Confederate statues and monuments.
Falling behind the rest of the South is par for this legislature’s course, of course. They chased off the film industry, they want to chase off the renewable-energy industry, they let other Southern states eat our lunch on industrial recruitment, and they got us to the bottom in teacher pay fast.
But their work is not yet done.
As the lost-causers say, “Fergit, hell!”

Norm Kelly says:
No wondering about who the author is here. Liberal story line from a liberal die-hard. Hasn't met a liberal policy to dislike. Hasn't met a conservative or conservative policy yet to like. Never endorse, support, or show kindness to a conservative idea or they might take away your liberal membership card.
Libs want everyone to act like the Civil War never existed. Libs want everyone to collectively forget the war happened. Like everything else lib, it's collective. Just like libs whine that NC used to be considered a 'progressive' state, they now praise SC for being 'more progressive' than NC. What libs fail to understand is that a majority of voters who CHOSE to vote threw out 'progressivism' in favor of conservatism. Hopefully conservative anyway. Some of the Republican ideas aren't quite as conservative as they should be. Like going soft on the voter ID law changes.
SC removed the flag from the statehouse grounds. Libs celebrate this like it's going to change anything. What good does it do to remove a piece of history. When you forget history, you are much more likely to repeat it. When history is well known, it can be respected and avoided in the future.
NC is favoring freedom, once again. Residents should be free to have the flag displayed, if we choose. There does NOT need to be a law, regardless of how quickly and often this phrase flows from the lips of libs! What is accomplished by the flag being banned in NC? Actual answer: nothing. Lib answer: it removes racism.
As for making it more difficult to remove statues and other memorabilia of the Civil War, our legislature is doing the right thing. Someone paid to have those monuments erected. What is served by having someone else now pay to have them removed? Again, actual answer: nothing. Lib answer: it removes racism. (btw: for all you good libs, what's worse paying blacks to stay on gov't subsistence so they vote for you, destroying the black family, or simply maintaining a statue/monument?)
Our legislature has chased off the film industry? By NOT paying a profitable business to come here to make even more money? Why should money come out of my back pocket in order to pay a profitable business to do what they do anyway? Incentives should be stopped for ALL PRIVATE BUSINESSES, not just the film industry. Buying businesses is a progressive idea. Also known as socialism.
Chase off renewable energy? How? By not paying them to be in business? Doesn't paying these businesses to be in business create an unfair advantage for those businesses? Yes. Doesn't it cost other businesses to maintain these subsidies? Yes. Are my taxes higher because libs want to pay these non-profitable businesses to stay in business? Yes. Since the gov't has no money of it's own, the money has to come from somewhere. That somewhere is taxes. Everyone's taxes are higher because libs want to support an unsustainable business.
As for teacher pay, there's too many points to cover quickly. First, the last actual teacher pay cut was implemented by Gary's friends on the left. It was libs who ACTUALLY cut teacher pay in NC. Let's tie that one around their necks and never let them forget it! But it's not teacher pay that needs to be looked at and every lib knows this. The entire compensation package MUST be looked at in order to make a useful and valid comparison. To say that teachers in CA or NY get paid more is pointless. The cost of living in both places is significantly higher, so the pay has to be significantly higher just to break even. So, how does teacher pay compare when cost of living, cost of benefits, what's covered with benefits, etc. etc. etc. are all taken into consideration. Libs won't let go of teacher pay because it's such a simple statement to make. It can't be supported; it can be easily defeated. But libs like the quick one-liner and like to 'mislead' their supporters, so this issue won't be going away any time soon. Even if the majority of voters are crazy enough to put libs back in control of the legislature, the teacher pay issue won't go away. Cuz, let's not forget, it was libs who last actually CUT teacher pay.
So, what part of liberalism is actually good for NC? Is it the extended unemployment benefits? You know the benefits that Nancy told us actually stimulates the economy. The benefits that were paid for by a loan from the central planners with NO REPAYMENT PLAN from the libs! How did that improve our economy? How about the high-speed rail scheme concocted by the occupier and accepted by the libs in Raleigh? Is that good for our economy? Long or short term? True answer: NO! Lib answer: of course.
