Bennie Lee says:

I only wish all the home schoolers were affluent. I see and know people that are NOT affluent, not well educated themselves, and are in NO way capable of teaching their kids any where close to what is AVAILABLE in public schools. I saw a couple this week, not uncommon, at 2:30 in a big box store with a child, about 10.When asked, they told me he was home schooled. I wonder what he learned shopping in Hobby Lobby. Maybe he did, I hope so.

My wife, a retired teacher, suggested one on one, there can be more learned than in a class of 30, with 4 or so being uncontrollable. As one who tried several years ago to help with math teaching, I know she can be absolutely correct.

BUT, how can we talk about holding our teachers to higher standards and allowing incapable parents putting young people out in the work place and wondering why they can't make change without the programmed cash register.
