According to Credit.com, the annual American Community Survey has been released and discusses U.S. household income and what areas/cities have the highest and lowest incomes. You can read the whole story here.

North Carolina cities were ranked the following out of the top 10 poorest cities in America:

#9. Forest City, N.C.

• Income: $32,836

#3. Roanoke Rapids, N.C.

• Population: 76,066

• Income:$29,930

#1. Lumberton, N.C.

• Population: 135,517

• Income: $28,293
