Richard Bunce says:
Turns out the self declared small government Republicans are just opportunistic country club Republicans. Time for both major parties to go!

How enjoyable to see the Repubicans beaten over the head with their own ideals!
After over a century of high minded, enlightened fairness-to-all Democratic rule over the state of NC in come the republicans with some self-serving antics. Where did they learn this stuff? From the Democrats, of course, which doesn't make it right for the Republicans to listen to self-interest lobby.
Seriously, now, all this holier-than-thou, Moral Monday arrest-me-please hypocrisy from Democrats is a bit hard to swallow, like the grade school bully finally getting a bloody nose then crying about bullies.
The state could do away with a lot of franchise protection from the courthouse to the barbershop to the funeral home. Maybe Tesla owners will someday cry about not having service available locally and WRAL's Monica Laliberte won't have a dealership to stand in front of if dealers are allowed to sell from out of state.
Let's debate the concept of protecting local business and local consumer protections, not just use every possible complaint about the republicans in power, which reeks of blueprint odors.
Still, as for the Tesla, I want one when the price is right and confidence in reasonably priced service support is here.
