Gene Arnold
Born in Nash County, Gene Arnold graduated from Rocky Mount Senior High School and later from UNC-Wilmington. From 1993-2002 Gene was a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives. During Gene’s Political career he was the co-chair of the House Finance Committee as well as Senior Chair of the House Education Appropriations Committee. He was instrumental in developing the ABC Education Legislation which established improved K-12 educational standards.
Gene’s professional career entailed owning The Dairy Bar Restaurant, and later retired from his position as an Executive with Hardee’s Food Systems after 24 years of service.
He served on the Lobbyist Ethics Commission which drafted and enacted new ethical standards for lobbyists. Gene currently is Chairman of the Board of the NC Public Schools Forum. He serves on the Board of the Jim Hunt Institute of Education and Politics. Gene and his wife, Lynne, reside in Rocky Mount, NC
