Teaching seems to be a very complex, detail-oriented, time-consuming activity. A lot of work preparation goes into each day's class. It could be that the long hours teachers work make it difficult to accommodate the incorporation of new methods into the curriculum.
This is the real argument for giving teachers the help of classroom aides and regular professional development time. We are expecting too much.
