After SPIN! - Question to Chris Fitzsimon: "The UNC Board of Governors received requests from the 16 campuses asking for tuition and fee increases next year averaging 4 percent and 3.5 percent the year following. The legislature has made clear they are concerned about the high costs of college, even as our state-supported schools have some of the lowest costs in the nation. In the past these requests have been routinely approved by the BOG. Given their unprecedented actions in firing Tom Ross can we expect them to play a more active role in the running of our universities? What action might we expect regarding these increases?"
