After SPIN! Video - "Why are small businesses dropping in rural counties?"
Published July 22, 2019
After SPIN! "Question to Anna Beavon Gravely and Brad Crone – A recent report from the NC Rural Center determined that between 2005 to 2015 the number of businesses that employed 10 people or fewer dropped by 4,300 or 7 percent in the state’s 80 rural counties. In the six urban counties there was a 9 percent increase. The report indicated that one reason for the decline was the lack of access to capital by small businesses. Do you agree? What other reasons would you cite for this decline?"
