After SPIN! Video: What has caused higher than projected tax revenues?

After SPIN! "Question to Howard and Joe – The state has reported that tax revenues for the first four months of this fiscal year are 191 million dollars more than had been projected. Governor McCrory says this is because of more jobs being created and higher pay for existing workers. Is this an indicator that the tax reforms passed by our legislature are working, just a factor of the recovery from the recession or both?"

Bruce Stanley says:

I didn't like the answer from either guest. Of course the 2016 budget surplus is due to the 2013 tax reform, as was the surplus in 2014, and as was the surplus in 2015. There is a direct correlation. Why can't democrats seem to grasp that? If you want more growth in GDP and jobs, you lower taxes. If you want to stymie growth in GDP and jobs, you hike taxes. It's as simple as that.

Richard L Bunce says:

Whatever the cause, the result is bad... giving government more tax dollars to spend will only result in more tax dollars being wasted... reduce the power of government, reduces spending, reduces taxes.
