Published March 22, 2017
After SPIN!"Question to Peg and Phil – HB2 assumed students in our schools would be violated by LGBTQ persons but a recent report from The Research Triangle Institute said just the opposite was true and that school bullying has gotten worse for gay, bisexual and transgender students. Give us your reaction to this report and what actions, if any, should be taken to protect them from harassment and discrimination."

Johnny Hiott says:
It's really odd how so many people make the topic about protecting this group or that group when it is truly all about morality. The democrats in this nation have used bullying as an excuse to protect illegals immigrants, homosexuals, politicians and many others all the while insuring that absolutely any protections existing for Christians were removed or ignored. The fact is government has caused every problem we have in this nation. The fact is that liberty cannot exist when everyone is in protected by these idiotic protection laws designed to give them equality. Government cannot legislate equality and a free nation cannot exist when it does. Regarding the homosexuals, transgenders or whatever all they have to do is conform to society's Christian lifestyles or go back into the closet and so called bullying will stop. They choose to be bullied with their life decisions due to a non-conforming lifestyle. Lets stop blaming society for something they themselves are causing. An excellent start would be for states to bring back anti-sodomy laws !

Norm Kelly says:
Peg starts off with a good point, but then blows it in the same sentence. HB2 was and should have been unnecessary. There was no need to have special protections for yet another group. Yet, for some odd reason, the left-wing zealot City Council in Charlotte did exactly what they were told not to do, what they were told in advance was beyond their authority, and 'solved' a problem that did not exist. So, Peg was right; the problem did not exist until Charlotte overstepped their authority and took illegal action.
Once Charlotte did what was illegal and unnecessary, it became necessary for the Legislature to step in and make it right again. Right is something that appears to be totally missed by alt-left zealots. Such as those that run Charlotte, as well as apparently most Demoncrat pols. And when Charlotte refused to repeal their goofy ordinance, the repeal effort in the legislature fell apart. Because Republicans were unwilling to be flexible, unwilling to compromise or resolve a non-issue? Nope. Once again, because alt-left zealots couldn't get beyond group identity politics. This is not an issue where the Republican legislature is missing the boat, is doing something wrong, or is leading the state in the wrong direction.
This is, once and for all, and always has been, an issue CREATED by alt-left zealots for the purpose of dividing people into competing groups, hoping that it would generate more unhappy left-wing voters than disappointed right-minded voters.
When the alt-left gets on board with true economic freedom, economic development, and improvement for ALL, then the politics of division and group identity will become irrelevant. And the environment for ALL NC residents will greatly improve. And we will once again become an example for the rest of the nation. Again, all it takes is politicians dedicated to bringing people together instead of dividing into splinter groups. Something that Demoncrat pols have yet to show they understand.
Take one short look at Roy and my point is proven. He constantly talks about HB2; it was ALL he ran on! His words say that 'compromise' is right around the corner. Yet his actions, as well as all other liberal Demon pols, show that only total, unencumbered, repeal of HB2 is acceptable, so the alt-left can get on with their identity politics once again. Which compromise has any demon supported? How many times have compromises been put forth by demon pols? How many times have Republicans put forth some sort of compromise effort just to have it shut down without debate by the alt-left?
Once again, the alt-left is proving that it's either their way or no way at all. Wanna bet a court case is brought by some alt-left zealot to force repeal of HB2, and special 'protections' for label-people, at both the state and federal level? Only question is how long it will take for this case to come forth.
