After SPIN - "Question to Greer Beaty – For several sessions the legislature has debated a bill that would raise the age a young person could be tried as an adult from 16 to 18. Supporters say this would save the state millions of dollars in the long term but those opposed say our court system is already underfunded and understaffed and this would just add to the problems. Why has this debate been going on so long and why is it so difficult to get this passed into law?"
