Question to Becki Gray – In 2013 our lawmakers started a process they called tax reform. One of the underlying premises was to do away with tax preferences, exceptions and loopholes. American Airlines, the major carrier in Charlotte receives sales and use tax breaks that amount to some $59 million per year. Should the legislature extend these tax breaks? If so, how can they justify eliminating film tax credits and historic preservation credits?
