After SPIN! - "Should DWI laws be tougher in NC?"
Published March 26, 2015
After SPIN! - "Question to Peg O’Connell: Representative Darren Jackson wants to tighten up the DWI laws. Currently, someone previously convicted of DWI can have a .04 blood alcohol content. Jackson says if they have been convicted twice in the past 10 years they can’t have any alcohol in their system or be convicted of a Class F felony. What do you think of this proposal?"

R.G. Hall says:
As with any out of touch person with the general population another law passed will always be the answer. Education is the only answer starting with grade five at a lower level and a higher level of the effects and results of alcohol and drug use to follow by grade twelve. Passing another law will only add to the tax payers burden and load to the judicial system. I myself after driving thirty five years with no accidents that a couple of dinner time drinks was not worth the costs and burdens that was imposed on me and found the classes of why drinking and drugging driving was not worth it and better for all of us. This younger generation has turned to riding high on drugs because of the alcohol DWI laws. Education is the only answer before reaching the drivers license age. Another law passed with a persons glorified name on it is not the answer. Building more prisons because of another law is not the answer either but instead spend the money on education. Look not of the empty basket of today but rather of the fruits of tomorrow. That would be worthy of placing your name upon.
